چکیده

cutaneous immunotherapy in the treatment of pediatric patients with respiratory allergy. While the results of a large randomized trial of pediatric patients with asthma brought into question the benefit of SCIT, this review reassures clinicians that evidence, ranging from low to high quality, exists to support the treatment of atopic respiratory disease in children. Since environmental avoidance is not always possible, the information regarding the benefit of immunotherapy is essential in the pediatric patient population.

Substance P (neurokinin-1) receptor is a marker of human mucosal but not peripheral mononuclear cells: molecular quantitation and localization.

Reciprocal communication between the immune system and the neuroendocrine system is mediated via a common chemical language of shared ligands and receptors. The neuropeptide substance P (SP) has been implicated as a mediator of immunomodulation. The evidence for substance P receptors on human lymphocytes is, however, controversial. The aims of the present study are to investigate substance P re...

Adrenergic/Cholinergic Immunomodulation in the Rat Model—In Vivo Veritas?

For several years, our group has been studying the in vivo role of adrenergic and cholinergic mechanisms in the immune-neuroendocrine dialogue in the rat model. The main results of these studies can be summarized as follows: (1) exogenous or endogenous catecholamines suppress PBL functions through alpha-2-receptor-mediated mechanisms, lymphocytes of the spleen are resistant to adrenergic in viv...

Modulation of in vitro proliferation and cytokine secretion of human lymphocytes by Mentha longifolia extracts

Objective: Mentha longifolia L. Hudson has been used in folk medicine for various purposes especially for its anti-inflammatory effects. Lymphocytes play a central role in development of inflammation. In the present study, we investigated the immunomodulatory effects of different extracts of M. longifolia on human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs), as main players in development of inflammati...

The effect of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells to induce PD-L1 molecule on splenic lymphocytes

Background: Mesenchymal stem cells are non-hematopoietic stromal cells that are used in the treatment of many chronic and autoimmune diseases by modulating the immune system. Due to the limitations of using autologous mesenchymal stem cells, the use of allogeneic stem cells is a promising therapeutic approach in the treatment of immunological disorders. This study aimed to investigate the abili...

Modulation of T cell activation by stomatin-like protein 2.

T cell activation through the Ag receptor (TCR) requires sustained signaling from signalosomes within lipid raft microdomains in the plasma membrane. In a proteomic analysis of lipid rafts from human T cells, we identified stomatin-like protein (SLP)-2 as a candidate molecule involved in T cell activation through the Ag receptor. In this study, we show that SLP-2 expression in human primary lym...
